Hello and welcome to the Purpose Filled Home. I am a firm believer that each of us has a God given purpose for our lives. That will be different for everyone, but I truly believe that whatever your purpose is, it starts in your home. I have always said that hospitality is my happy place, and hosting at home is at the top of that list.
I am a professionally trained chef with a degree in Culinary Arts and Operations, and in Holistic Nutrition and Wellness. When I’m not working at my day job, cooking in an assisted living facility, I love to read, crank up the music while cleaning, create new recipes, host family dinners and celebrate the holidays.
My inspiration comes from living in simpler times like my grandparents did. I love to make my own food whenever possible, such as mustards, mayonnaise, salsa, dressings and jams. I recently started growing some of my own herbs, fruits and vegetables and would love to have a bigger garden some day.
I have written two cookbooks and am working on a third. One is a collection of recipes inspired by my Hungarian grandparents, and my hillbilly grandparents. You can check that out here. The second is a book based off of my love of hosting Sunday dinner. That one is available here.
I am a sinner saved by grace, and I am definitely not perfect. I mess up. I cuss a little. I’m impatient. I’m stubborn. But I am also a fiercely loyal friend, an ear to listen, a shoulder to cry on, and an eternal optimist. Finding the good in every situation keeps me sane.
Whether it’s a scripture, a product I love, a kitchen tip, a recipe, or some daily inspiration, I hope there is something here that you can relate to, and help you make your home one filled with purpose.
