While it may only be the middle of February and I am currently freezing, a glass of fresh squeezed lemonade is always refreshing!
You don’t need much time, and with a few ingredients you can have lemonade that’s reminiscent of the lemonade shakeups from the county fair. I use water and sugar to make a simple syrup so that I can keep a full pitcher in my fridge all the time.
Steps To Making Lemonade
- Start by making your simple syrup. Combine the sugar and one cup of the water in a saucepan and boil until sugar is dissolved. This should only take a couple minutes.
- While that is working, cut your lemons in half and squeeze the juice into a bowl. Depending on the size of the lemons, you should need about 6-8 to get one and a half cups of juice.
- Once the sugar is dissolved, remove from heat and set aside to cool.
- In a large pitcher, add the cooled sugar mixture and the lemon juice. Fill the container with the other 7 cups of water. Add ice if you still have room in the pitcher.
- Chill until ready to serve.
